The Grafton-Midview Public Library offers the Teen Zone as a safe, communal space for patrons in grades 6 to 12 to work independently, socialize, and engage in Library-related activities and services. While the Young Adult collection of materials is available to patrons of all ages, the space, and computers in the Teen Zone are designed and intended for patrons in grades 6 to 12. The Library reserves the right to utilize the Teen Zone for scheduled teen activities, programs, and events. Activities requiring privacy and one-on-one interaction such as tutoring will be redirected to more suitable areas of the Library such as the Local History Room, Community Room, and other areas based on availability.
Computers in the Teen Zone are available for patrons in grades 6 to 12 on a first-come, first-served basis. Teen patrons will need a Library card number to log into computers. Information Desk staff will provide Library card numbers to any teen patron with a lost or missing card and a guest pass for visitors from outside the area. Replacement cards may be obtained at the Customer Service desk if necessary at no charge. Individual computer sessions are set at 60 minutes and 30 minutes extensions are available from the Information Desk if other teen patrons are not waiting. If all computers are in use, teens may reserve the next available computer with the assistance of Information Desk staff.
Teen patrons must adhere to the Library's internet policy while using the computers in the Teen Zone as well as the Library's conduct policy while using the Teen Zone for any purpose.
